I love building things using Map Layers. Taking thing we build using regular, out-of-the-box functionality in Tableau and elevating and enhancing them using Map Layers. This session focuses on introducing the idea of using Map Layers in vizzes that we actually use in business dashboards - BANs, Tables and KPI cards and reimagining them using Map Layers.

This session presented at Andy Kriebel's Next Level Tableau Live Conference in April 2026 was all about taking a report build in another report platform and recreating it in Tableau. The pros and cons of doing this. Look out for an excellent tip on workaround to create context-aware parameters. My talk kicks off around the 1:52:00 mark
